One thing - the economy has hit the publisher market as well. I can't speak for every publisher, but I know several that have scaled back on new book projects.

Writing a book is very difficult, and takes a substantial amount of time.

The truth of the matter is that Bonnie has probably contributed the equivalent of a book with her .NET posts going back the last 6-7 years.
