One thing I really miss is a simple project with two software solutions with the exactly same effect – one in VFP and another in .NET. Perhaps a kind of a Phonebook with couple of forms, menus, a simple database and some reports. With both solutions and powerfull comments from experts I am sure we could better get the starting steps, specially with arguments why something should be done in different way as we used to do in VFP.

I know that learning .NET is not just another language and there is lot of points it can't be compared with VFP, specially LINQ issues. But on the other hand perhaps all of us concerns things like cursors, macros, binding fields from forms to database, or some quick commands like 'use', 'browse' etc. If it is (and I'm sure it is) nothing to worry about their replacement, we just need a couple of practical examples in the new world.
