Hi Richard,

> Is their some sort of utility that is commonly used to determine where the slowdown is actually occurring? Would MS Network Moitor help?

MS Network Monitor (or the better Wireshark monitor) should only be the last resort to diagnose network related issue. Any application or OS level issues are better handled by higher level monitors. For diagnosing performance issues I would start with Process Monitor (ProcMon formerly FileMon) which shows you any file activity including the one across the network. Procmon will tell you if the LCOATE statement transfers a lot of data (your problem is optimization) or few data (you have a configuration or hardware issue).
