Are they still in the League?

I fear they're looking at a September meltdown.....their closer is shaky, their ace from last year is a mess, their defense has suddenly gone bad, they strike out too much, and they leave WAY too many runners in scoring position. Many times they win when the other team plays badly. Fortunately, their other starting pitchers have been awesome, and they simply club people to death offensively.

They're simply the best of an NL East where the teams are either bad or very inconsistent. Either Atlanta or Florida will catch fire in September (probably Atlanta), and we'll see if the Phillies can avoid the reverse of what happened in 2007 (when the Mets were up by something like 7 or 7.5 games with roughly 17 to go, choked, and Philly caught them).

I live and die with the Phillies, but I sense a September nose-dive coming....we'll see if these guys can handle it. They were great in the last 2 years when they were chasing - let's see how they handle prosperity.
