I know NT-based systems (NT4, Win2K, WinXP..) has NetRemoteTOD() to allow me to get system date from another computer on a network. However this isn't available in Win95/98/Me, so on these platforms I'm stuck. (we've got some clients that still use Win95/98 workstations and making them upgrade to more recent OS would be next to impossible) Yes, I'm aware that I could be querying various time servers on the Internet -- but some of those customers with older PCs don't have an Internet connection. Any ideas?

And yes... I've tried the old trick of creating a file on the network drive and checking file timestamp -- and much to my dismay discovered that under various circumstances the timestamp used is based on the time/date of the workstation (which of course could be suspect as it could easily be changed) rather than the fileserver (which would be a bit less prone to tampering).

And yes... I know I can get the time/date info from a SQL server (of course, if you've got someone still using Win95/98/Me and not have a live Internet connection, what's the probablity that they're running a SQL server...)
