thanks for suggestion naomi and it does activate the command window - however this could be a bit too convoluted to get help on.

i tried the following: (see below) the minute i hit 3 (deactiv all menus) - my program looped back into my main menu again.

if i delete number 3 entirely it makes it to the command window but once i try to write in the command window - my program loops back to the main meni again.

i can only assume that without giving you the entire program and the way it is set up there may not be much anyone can help me with.

deact window all
wait window "2"

deacti menu all
wait window "3"

deactivate popup all
wait window "4"

activate window "command"
