Now I am confused. I was under the impression that xbaps will run in Firefox with the IE tab installed and .net framework 3.5. In fact, I have some old code from a discussion online to detect the presence of WPF inside the browser that I meant to test, but haven't gotten to:
  if (navigator.plugins["Windows Presentation Foundation"])
        {
             // redirect to your .xbap
        }
        else
        {
            // redirect to .NET 3.5 download page

        }
I haven't researched it since, so is that not the case?
