Naomi - i tried the program you suggested it actually yields more information than i care to have. simple to delete the elements i don't want however, i noticed that the information i want is not produced in a clear concise fashion as it could be.

So i have started a new thread which reads below. Interesting that i was quite content to know just the error number but now have a more grandiose enterprise in the works - 'a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing'

once error has been produced, What would be the simplest method of displaying the path to the error.
in other words - if error occurs, and you press escape, the sequence of modular programs is shown leading to the error.
This is the information i would like displayed (so that i can caputure in a text file)

also i that a way to display the line the error took place.
