It's like somebody being a little slow-to-market in rolling out a must have enhancement for your fax machine or 8 track player. Timeliness is kind of important. <s>

The real thing working against them is that while waiting for this hybrid "solution" a lot of us have learned enough .net to find out we don't need it to handle data as well as we did in Fox. ( and I say that as somebody who bought it early )

>>>>Is this company completely incapable of communicating with customers and prospective customers on its own? Just wondering. It always seems to be some herald making announcements on their behalf.
>>>
>>>Don't get me started...
>>>
>>>So, still we only hear from Boudewijn, not them! WEEEEEEEKS have gone by... and nothing from eTec (at least so little it's pitiful).
>>>
>>>They are still missing the point: Community members EXPECT to hear from the REAL company, not some tid-bit news fed to one insider. As much as he is a fanboy of this product, he is NOT eTec (but thanks to hime for what he does, since that is all we are getting right now.)
>>>
>>>We've all (that are following this product) been giving them things to consider for months now (about the web site, marketing, news update, or even a little bit of news from the company). What have they done with that?
>>>
>>>So, like before, nothing has changed.
>>>
>>>Nothing!
>>>
>>>I'm tired of hearing about how busy they are working on the product, and they just don't have time for some PR work.
>>>
>>>(Let me turn on my bold, say-it-slow-and-loud typing:)
>>>
>>> " IF THEY HAD A BRAIN THEY WOULD DO COMMNUNITY NEWS FROM THEMSELEVES WITH GREATER FREQUENCY "
>>
>>Exactly. Even if I wanted to cling to VFP, which I don't, I wouldn't trust this company as far as I could throw them. It strikes me as the classic case of having to worry about one guy getting hit by a bus.
>
>I agree. It really sounded promising a long time ago, but as time goes by and communications dry up and product doesn't show, it becomes apparent that this is likely a one-man show and I'd bet this is a sideline project at that.
>
>It's too bad. This would have been a handy way to uprade some existing applications.

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
