Hi,

Is there a function in SQL that I can use to return the last value in the identity column of a table? Note that I don't mean SCOPE_IDENTITY() as it returns the value in the same scope. But I want to be able to do this and get the value from any table. For example, in a pseudo code it would be like this:
nLastIdentVal = GetLastIdentVal("tablename")
Thank you in advance for your help.
