PowerEdge servers start at 359 Euros, right now. The dollar exchange rate can't be that bad, can't it. ;)

"Start at" being the key phrase - load it with enough memory and disks, and you're likely talking a few more Euros

Like I said, I have a home server that's pretty awesome and cost me less than 1K...but I wouldn't use it for an actual production server.
