Because Netflix is limited to what was distributed here. For anything else... the jury of the peers. Just the other night I watched a production of a certain youngster F F Coppola... "Battle beyond the Sun" (online). And then I just had to find the original, "Nebo zovyot" (The sky is calling). I think maybe once in the next million years Netflix would carry the original along with the butchered copy (this wasn't even a remake). Until then...
And even if they would carry it, you'd never find it listed under SF. It'd be under
"foreign".
