>>Just remember, any critical examples of government run care, 'death panels" or "public-options" is just FUD. Right?

>Why do you insist to look at the UK for healthcare.

I think we should honestly examine all "public" health systems if we're to consider going down that path.

>While still a lot better than in the US,

We disagree, but you already knew that.

>there are lots of countries in europe with different healthcare.
>Take a look at France,

The French system is broke, approaching crisis levels of underfunding and trying to reform. Ironically, they're adopting a number of capitalistic ideas like co-pays, limiting services and closing unprofitable and inefficient hospitals.

>Switzerland

I've only read a little but I know that it mandates that people carry insurance and that insurance companies are very regulated regarding what they can and cannot do. One thing of note is that they're not allowed to profit.

>or The Netherlands.

We've already discussed your system and I've mentioned that it's intriguing. However, it's young and needs more time for a proper assessment. Don't forget they're running something similar in Massachusetts.

As I've mentioned before, I do not believe that a citizen of a free country should be mandated to carry insurance. Free people must be free to make bad and risky decisions and they must face the consequences and reap the rewards of those decisions.
