Have you tried it without specifying the cursortype and lock parameters? In particular not all cursortypes are supported by all ODBC drivers.
Try Recordset.open(lSql,lConnection) and see what happens. Also, try using the Open method with the connection object and see if that works. The open method will return 0 if successful.
