>Well, here's a prediction: if politicians continue to focus on "Tweedledum and Tweedledee" behaviors, unaffordable healthcare and home value deflation are going to hammer the middle classes sooner rather than later. Then things will change because the middle classes almost always represent a majority if they co-operate, which they will do when they realize that they are being pushed backwards.
Middle class was never motor of real changes. (No meaningfull social schange was ever started on a full stomach {g})
Change happens when poor become hungry and middle class becomes very poor. This is usually when 'stuff hits the fan'.
