FYI, here's what I have to say about this on my website (http://www.tomorrowssolutionsllc.com/writingtips.htm):

Don't follow "between" with "to"; use "between" with "and", or "from" with "to." For example, this version is wrong:

"It takes between 5 to 8 days."

These versions are right:

"It takes between 5 and 8 days."

"It takes from 5 to 8 days."

Don't use "between" before a pair of values separated by a hyphen. The hyphen stands for the word "to."

Wrong: "It takes between 5-8 days."

Right: "It takes 5-8 days."
