>He is. That was funny when they showed the replay from last season when a Titan taunted him with the ball as he went into the end zone. He seems like about the last guy anyone should want to taunt, at least if they ever plan to run a route over the middle against the Steelers again.

>I saw parts of the game last night. A great kickoff game for the NFL. Close, two tough defenses. And I bet Hines Ward is the most grateful man alive that the Steelers pulled it out in OT <g>.

>John Madden was terrific but Collinsworth is going to be a good replacement. Very different styles. One thing he brings is an ex-player's perspective, which is something Madden couldn't do. Unlike some ex-players, he seems willing to criticize players without jumping up and down on their heads about it. (That was one of the things I liked most about Madden).

Agree completely about Collingsworth. He and Michaels worked very well together and he always seemed to me - on HBO and now Showtime - to be a very intelligent guy who still has enough earthiness to make you believe he played.

Sunday we get to see a purple Favre in Cleveland. Actually more worried about AP - I know the Browns can't stop him but even slowing him down may be iffy. Would be embarrassing to have a guy run for 300 on you on opening day <g>

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
