>My client has had their IT consultants set up a new server to test an upgrade to their application. They have given me Admin access to the server and a Remote Desktop Connection. That has usually been adequate, but this time I need to install VFP to test a feature that hasn't been tested here (not enough data.) The VFP install fails on the Prerequisites--specifically, bootstrap.msi fails with the message that it can't be run over RDC. Fair enough I guess, but I'm also hesitant to let my VFP disk out of my sight (meaning, I don't want to send it to them to install.) The last time I needed to do something like this, I was able to drive to the client's site and install from the console. That isn't an option here because the server is off site in a secured facility. I fought for weeks even to get a Remote Desktop Connection. I hate to go back and tell them I need something else:-)
Lynda,
You can copy from your local drive to the server, ie you can make a local drive visible once your are logged in via RDC.
RightClick the RDC connection, take properties or Edit and look under the TAB Local resources
