Here is a sincere suggestion. Maybe you should move to the wide open spaces. Idaho, Montana, Wyoming. You would be with like minded people. I am not being sarcastic. I have an urge like that myself, based on the books of C.J. Box, but would not fit in well.

I would not be at all comfortable living in the wide open spaces - I am a city girl. However, I have friends with many different kinds of views and ideas. Andy and I golfed with another couple yesterday whom I love dearly even though they voted for Obama. They did it because they weren't aware of the issues and only listened to the commercials and the sound bites. I love to needle them and asked them (again) "So are you happy with what you got?"

Believe it or not, they aren't.
