***> the following 2 lines solved the problem, permanently I hope ***> in essence I move the focus out of the grid in which I have GATHERed and back _SCREEN.ACTIVEFORM.SetFocusToFirst() &lcControl..SETFOCUS()I just set the focus to the first control of the form (I had the function ready so I used it) but I think it can be any control outside the grid and then set focus back to the control you started from in the grid.
