They can do one or the other, I don't have control in which modules they use most. However one of the modules is related with merging and I think they use that one often.

Probably you could test doing automation in an loop doing it a few hundred times and check the timings and effects. IMHO spread to a daytime recreating it wouldn't have much impact (but you never know before you do test harness).
