I read this earlier.

I'm not at all surprised.

MJ was the greatest of all time...but it took Phil Jackson to get MJ some rings.

Phil Jackson had to get in MJ's face many times to get MJ to accept the triangle offense.

Also....when MJ was involved in HUGE gambling (reports that he'd play golf for a hundred thousand dollars), Davis Stern told MJ that if he didn't stop, Stern would suspend him. There was an unconfirmed rumor that Stern was going to suspend MJ to start the 93-94 season, but then MJ's father was murdered. The "retirement" was a way for Stern to get what he wanted (he was furious at MJ for ignoring his orders to stop gambling),and for MJ to take some time away from the game.

MJ was the greatest of all time....but it's hard for me to accept someone suddenly being disillusioned because MJ made a stupid speech where he (effectively) pulled down his pants and showed everyone his ass....he's been doing this for years.
