>>The funny thing is that my web program sets the cookie just fine. The problem is that the program cannot receive the cookie from the browser. I check my cookies folder on the client, and the cookie is there. If I use a browser other than IE 4 on the same client, my program can read the same cookie written using IE 4. So, it does not sound like I have a bad cookie. I do not understand why the same program works with other browser, except IE 4. I guess I am out of ideas.

Rick,

I found a work around to my problem. Instead of including the cookie the HTTP header before the HTML tag, I used the META tag after the HEAD tag. Now, my program works with IE 4 and Netscape.

Thanks for your help!
