We have an adopted puggle (half pug, half beagle) and she has become my favorite of our three dogs. I know not everyone is of that opinion, though. A few weeks ago I was in a group conversation and it turned out three of us had beagles or puggles. The other two guys had the same opinion as you -- never again. One of them had a picture of his on his cell phone, with a backdrop making it look like a Wanted poster. That was pretty funny.
Even our vet advised against the puggle. When my daughter first started lobbying for one I asked Dr. Barcus what she thought of the breed. (That's really her name -- talk about destiny). She said you tend to get the spaciness of a pug and the stubbornness of a beagle. Maybe we've been lucky because that hasn't been our experience. The stubbornness, yes.
