I have a periodic situation that's just about that goofy. Once in a while the DVD player will only display a solid green screen. (Green screen of death?) I got on the internet and found it was a known problem for my brand and model of HDTV when connected to a DVD player by an HDMI cable. Some unknown something causes the TV to reset an HDMI setting, causing the problem. To fix it you have to enter a funky key combination on the TV remote to put it into menu mode, navigate to the HDMI settings, and reset it. Then you turn off the TV, wait 30 seconds, unplug it, wait another 30 seconds, turn it back on, and wait for the TV to power back up. Presto change-o, the DVD player works again. Until the next time, anyway. This happens once a month or so. After the second or third time I printed out the directions and put them by the TV for those rare occasions (!) when the girls are watching TV long after I am in bed. Technology, ya gotta love it!

>>Sorry about the cable box, I'd be cursing like mad if that happened to me.

>After 3 tries, I got the stupid box running again! Those things are insane!

>1) You have to uplug everthing connected up to the box and TV.

>2) Next you plug in the cable box and it comes up with "boot" on the front of it... then goes BLACK like it lost power again!

>3) So.... you sit and wait about 10 minutes until it comes back with the TIME on the front of it!
>
>4) And if you get froggy, and decide to go ahead and turn it on THEN, it goes to a BLUE SCREEN of DEATH (the ID screen for the UNIT)... DUH????

>5) So start again, then this time wait about 30 minutes after the time comes up, and THEN you can get the TV going!!

>Wish granted!!! I enjoyed the double field goal at the end.

>Didn't the Dallas Coach do the Giants a big old FAVOR by calling that timeout when he did?
>
>What IF the kicker has MISSED that field goal??? Then Dallas would have won. So... he gave them 2 chances to beat them!!!! Which he did!

>My wife loves the Cowboys though... sigh.....
