It eats up cycles when doing it's daily scan. So I schedule it in the middle of the night.

I use the Internet Security version, which seems to cover everything. I haven't had any problems where I've installed it. I have 5 computers on it: they will see in packs, for reduced prices.

>Thanks for your opinion as well Hank, how is the speed with AVG, I have heard it is good, but can be slow? How has it protected you over those years?

>>Norton acts on the pjx itself when opening a table; and might also work on the tmp files created on the local machine whenever a cursor is created (which includes views and buffered tables and transactions). I switched to AVG many years ago for this reason.

>>>Thanks Victor, This was something we also tried to do with our current product and to our surprise, we told the anti-virus to ignore all the network drives we used and the performance was the same (as if the filter in the software does not do anything).
>>>
>>>Please keep the comments coming people... and thanks in advance

>>>>One of the issues I've had in the past is having the anti-virus software scanning network drives. Particularly I've had that issue with Norton Anti-virus. What I did was just turn off the scanning of network drives and the problem went away. (Obviously the machine that had the networked drive had it's own anti-virus software)....
