Years ago one of the biggest names in the Fox world swore off Microsoft and publicly stated he was moving everything to Open Source. Guess what he's doing today... Fox ... because he couldn't make enough money with Open Source development.

If you're referring to the person I think you're referring to....not sure I would say "biggest" (unless you mean biggest fish in a relatively small pond)...

The "swearing off Microsoft" reminds me of that old story about making a stand....with one foot in quicksand. Only a few people know the actual story about that famous dialog regarding Linux, but that entire "swearing off" just seemed like an emotional reaction.

(I'm sure the more recent, "I'm back", is genuine....though the story is probably more amusing than industry-shaking)

It reminds me of another big Fox name, one of my favorites in the early 1990's. Then he got a case of .NET fever (though his actual work and presentations really tended to make more accomplished .NET developers ill!)....then he writes articles about how less efficient .NET is compared to Fox (never once questioning what needs to be questioned)....following him gives me whiplash!!! <s>
