Google is doing some interesting stuff. It leads the web search market, but trails the market leaders everywhere else.

>I don't think you need to be sorry that some people get up in arms about this stuff. The old ways die hard. Many have convinced themselves that Microsoft is the end all and be all. MS is currently the IBM of the 1980s compared to Google which is poised to sweep most of the proprietary MS products by the wayside and they're doing it all with Open Source technologies. Anybody that denies that Google is the standard bearer for today's technology is seriously deluding themselves.
