Let's not forget that the IBM PC made MS.
IBM's managerial mistakes were monumental.
Unlike MS, who kept a tight grip on their product, IBM licensed its technology and thereby created Dell,
Gateway, Compaq, etc, etc thereby squandering one of the largest market advantages in the history of computing.

That's exactly what the Open Source advocates would like MS to do and does anyone wonder why MS is not interested?
