I lived with the nightmare of a person drinking constantly until my mother finally drank herself to death at age 45. All of the pressure in the world will not help you stop drinking or go into rehab or whatever. You will continue to rationalize your behavior, make excuses, and be a common drunk with all of the collateral damage that brings. You cannot and will not change until you reache a major breaking point and want to quit. Right now, your AA meetings are bandaids designed to make those around you think you are trying to change, but your behavior and actions speak the opposite.

The failed AA meeting attempts, the failed jobs, and the incessant pleadings here while drunk all point to the fact that you still don't want to change. Some day I hope you can defeat this monkey, if for no other reason, than for your children. When I hear you say how lucky you are to be a father, I cringe. My mother was lucky to be a mother (if you can call it that) but didn't stop her from drinking or destroying the lives of all around her.

Grow up...
