Yeah, making a law is going a little too far imo. Just choose an Open Source language to begin with - then none of this is dependent on corporate whims. That's why it would be nice if VFP were totally open source. Part Open Source is also nice but I doubt private developers will ever be able to make VFP 64 bit without the innards.
Also, Etechnologia would probably be smart to somehow open source their product. But I don't see that happening.
