What if you provided a way to include a list of "trouble" classes or forms in the preferences that would have this feature automatically turned off when that class/form is being edited? I can see where one could have several classes/forms open at once and would switch between them. Having PEME automatically turn off this for the trouble classes/forms only would be a great benefit.

This is a great idea.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
