>>>There's a real danger of allowing policy to be hijacked by a small unrepresentative minority.
>>>
>>>Nicholas,
>>>
>>>It is pure propoganda to state that the strong opposition to Obama is coming from a small unrepresentative minority.
>>>
>>>For years I've made excuses for Bill Clinton, a man I had some hopes for in the beginning - he is now part of this trashy, dishonest crap that there's a "right-wing extremist conspiracy" against Obama. Obama's approval rating has dropped more than any other president in the first year in office...members of his own party are disenchanted with him....I don't consider this a "small, unrepresentative minority".
>>>
>>>I've given up making excuses - this latest mishap where a Clinton opens their mouth and falsehoods come out, is the last straw for me and grounds for never forgiving those two complete liars for anything they've ever said (well, 3, if you count Obama).
>>
>>I was disappointed in Clinton's presidency as well. But he is doing some great stuff now. His Clinton Foundation raises tons of money and spends it on good works around the world, especially Africa. He was on the Letterman show a couple of weeks ago and you could see his excitement talking about it. He said they work with Procter and Gamble to distribute a product that will make undrinkable water drinkable. P&G reduces the cost. Clinton said there are a billion people in the world who don't have clean water. Another thing they are working on is malaria. He said malaria has been eliminated in this country but is still rampant in Africa. They distribute nets which families can put around their tents at night to keep bugs out. Another thing they do is help with logistics getting food to where it is needed. He said a billion people go to bed hungry every night. He cited one country that tends to have famines in the western part and an excess of food in the eastern part. They don't have the storage and transportation to distribute it. The foundation helps them with those logistics. He travels all the time working on this stuff and raising money, working closely part of the time with Bill and Melinda Gates.

>I will agree with your statement for the most part. He has been known in the recent past to suffer foot in mouth disease. :o)

And Bush senior, yes. They have done some things together, as you know.

I wasn't saying everything Clinton has done since leaving office has been great. He sure did have foot in mouth disease at times during the primary campaign last year, and IMO cost Hillary some support. But his work with the foundation has been terrific.
