I've noticed boot time is quite a bit faster with WIn 7. Could be due to delayed loading and parallel loading of drivers and startup apps, which is a new Win7 feature.
>Can't say that I concur on the snappier part. I've been using Vista since beta days and it honestly gave me very few problems over those years. I think a lot of this perception came from all the crap Vista installed by default. Once that was turned off Vista actually ran pretty well (that plus ditching Explorer as the main Shell Explorer for xPlorer2).

>Windows 7 is a bit cleaner UI and less obese out of the box, but I can't say that I noticed much of a performance gain. Seems like actual performance tests I've seen in various magazines etc. back that up that actual performance is roughly the same as Vista as well.

>Wonder what the perception change is in this case?

>Could it also be that hardware is two years more advanced? Faster machines more memory for most of us?
