In my AA meeting today the topic was giving tribute to those who deserve it, regardless of yourself. In that spirit I want to say some good words for Amedisys.

They are a large and growing home care and hospice care company based in Baton Rouge. You have probably seen ads for them here. That's where I was on my misadventure this spring. That it didn't work out was entirely my own fault.

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I flew into New Orleans the first time. Louis Armstrong International Airport -- I liked that right off the bat. You can fly into Baton Rouge as well but the big easy is a straight hour west on I-10. (I miss the drive; swamps and bayous practically up to your wheels). Maybe a backwards southern company, I thought.

That thought quickly disappeared. They are pros. They have VFP 8 apps that literally run their business. Very heavy SQL Server stored procedures and triggers. Changes have to be approved by a division manager. You are right in the arena, not in some basement somewhere. It is my favorite of all the clients I have ever had.
