Interesting. Well I can see echo being turned on when you open the debugger window - but here is what else I found. I have a SET STEP ON in my code. Now back "in the old days" I used to comment those out when I would compile because VFP would toss and error - but it no longer does that - so often I'll just leave those in there. Well guess what - doesn't give an error - but it *does* turn echo back on, and once that happens in your .exe as a result of a set step on, doesn't look like a set echo off will work anymore.
ya know seems to me that this is a bug in VFP.
