When you link form to some variable, this form will exist as long as the variable exists, i.e. if variable gets released you lose form itself. Correspondingly, if you start form from some snippet and use local variable, this variable will be released at the end of the snippet. If you link form to the property of some other object, then form will exist as long as that object exists, and if it's application object, then your form is safe.
