I remember one other developer who was experiencing similar behavior some time ago...if I'm not mistaken, he solved his problem by either changing SET MEMOWIDTH or SET BLOCKSIZE. Try manually changing these values and see if it makes any difference.

Other than that, make sure you have the latest version of VFP5 (with Service Pack 3...OR VFP6) and Internet Explorer...there were some strange things happening from a UI perspective due to some incompatibility with VFP5/IE4.
