If it fits the definition of new, then I fit the definition of young :).

Though these FoxTools function were there (under somewhat different names) since FPD 2 (in fpath.plb), they became mainstream VFP in version 6, IIRC... well, not all of them at the same time; wordnum() and words() became getwordnum() and getwordcount() in version 7.

Fox has so many functions that it's not unusual that people just keep the old hand-coded ones, being unaware that faster replacements are available. Happened to me a few times too :).
