Well, you could roll your own graphics display using lines, shapes etc. You could do this with the native VFP controls, or maybe you could use GDIPlusX (Google [gdiplusx samples]).
One advantage to a grid is it automatically handles scrolling both vertical and horizontal. Simulating that would take some work with a custom graphical display.
