It's an absurd over-reaction but that's hardly a uniquely liberal trait. I compare it to the rules for airplane safety. I had a toenail clipper confiscated because it had a two inch blade (don't really know what to call it) attached to it. (Insert sarcastic remark about its effectiveness as a weapon).
