I like the idea so much that if he doesn't follow through on it, I might pick another excellent book and do it. If I do, I'll contact the publisher first (or a copyright specialist) and verify the legality. Don't worry though, since I know that you detest the idea, I won't pick one of your books :o) (although any one of yours would be an excellent choice) Thanks...you just proved my point - you acknowledged that you'd contact the publisher. :)
I'm not saying the publisher will protest...but the biggest issue they are on the lookout for, is abuse.
Again, I'm only talking computer books - other types of books (children's books, cookbooks, novels) have a competely different business model.
Thanks for the compliment - like I said, free chapters of both my books are available online, so I'd say the publishers have done what they can to provide offerings of what's in the books.
