You're absolutely right. I intended it for example only. I store all my connections in the DBC, and for SQL Pass Through I use the named connection. This has become especially important here because we've added a second SQL Server and most of my data has gotten migrated to it. The total time to change all of my apps to the new server was about 10 minutes.
