what is the recordsource/record source type of your grid? do you have the linkmaster, relational expression, childorder properties? what is the controlsource of your columns? are they bound? after you edit a record that was already there it is no longer there? how do you add: insert, append blank? give more info.

have you browsed the table and know for sure the records are not there? put a debugger stop after the add and save. go over the vfp window, and browse the table after the add and save. make sure it is there.
