Gregory's code does not error for me, on either VFP9 7423 or VFP8 3117.
The dev machine I'm running on is Windows Server 2003 R2 EE in workstation mode (lots of server-related services disabled). It also has no antivirus software installed. All testing is on the local C: drive.
FWIW I'm running with US - English locale settings.
