I originally had an interview set with Amedysis, but they felt I wanted too much salary, as the first job was as a perm employee. Then, some recruiters contacted me and submitted my name to Amedysis as a contract programmer. I was turned down by Amedysis, earlier in the year. The reason was that they felt my SQL Server skills weren't quite where they wanted them to be. From what I've heard through some recruiters since then, Amedysis has been letting some programmers go and continues trying to hire new people with the right skills.

The recruiter also said that because those interviewing had focused mostly on SQL skills, people got in who were not true FoxPro types and were eventually let go. Whether any of this is true, I really don't know, but recruiiters are still trying to get people in there. I wont go there until my SQL skills improve.

>The one large scale VFP project I know is going is at Amedisys in Baton Rouge. They basically do things the right way. Skill with SQL Server 2005 stored procedures is essential. The people are nice and Baton Rouge is a nice place. Contact Nicolle Psilos at TEKsystems if you are interested and in a position to work in Louisiana. They are selective -- a number of prominent members here were turned down. Daniel Aldridge can tell you a lot more, since he has been there much longer than I was.
