I didn't find an option to search (or search and replace) throughout the entire document, including headers and footers. Do I have to do two or three separate searches?

Re: Replace in word header Thread #

Hi, I finally managed to do it, by saving macros and looking at the result. The reason I tarried is because I was hoping for a better solution, in this order of preference:
1) A single replace that spanned the document, all headers and footers. That was the subject of my original question.
2) Do the replace without actually selecting the header and footer. The thread you pointed to me looked like it was supposed to do just that, but I didn't manage to make it work.
3) So finally I saved the macros to actually select the header, replace, go to the next header (because the first page was different), repeat the replace, etc. I don't find this the most elegant solution, but it is one that actually works.
Thanks for your help.
Hilmar.
