Bruce Schneier and Joanna Rutkowska are pretty serious security professionals, well worth a read at any time.

Improbable for "low-value" targets, perhaps. But the main gist is that if you do have something which is high-value, at least to you, it may not be as safe/invulnerable as you may think if you're using a product such as TrueCrypt or PGP Whole Disk (I imagine BitLocker is in that same category).

Another thing to bear in mind, these sorts of exploits always get weaponized and automated so that semi-skilled or unskilled individuals can use them. "Script kiddies" attack Web properties; can "script maids" be very far off? < g >
