Thanks for that, a very helpful start. I can now understand how I could run a timer, say every minute, to check the timestamp of the latest message against a 'latest messages recorded' table and archve any new ones.

Although the above system would certainly work it also appears that there are also Skype Event handlers which may also do the job. Can't find any examples of these yet but will keep looking.
