>I am speaking from the experience of alcoholics I know personally who have gone into rehab. We have had this discussion before. No insult but you do not understand the problem.
>
>Mike, people generally associate with those who make them feel comfortable. My guess is that you are associating with alcoholics just like you - ones who make excuses, ones who aren't willing to make the effort. If those people who are saying "rehab doesn't work" are anything like you, it's no wonder they didn't succeed. From where I sit, you haven't moved AN INCH on this in years.

>While you're reading that Glenn Beck book, also read about how he battled alcoholism.

>Mike, I don't weight 400 lbs and I don't eat at McDonald's ever day and I don't understand why someone would....but I also know that one shouldn't eat a Big Mac and fries every day, and if one does, the only way to reverse the trend is to stop eating and to get on a treadmill or bike or SOMETHING.

>All you give are excuses....stupid, cry-baby excuses....and believe me, I understand this better than you think. I know that booze affects depression in those already suffering from depression.

>Re: my earlier question on whether your parents were alcoholics...regardless of the answer.....here's the bottom line...alcoholics, drug addicts, extreme perverts...they breed...and they breed one thing...little vampires, little drug addicts, little sex offenders. Your continued actions serve to increase the odds that your daughters one day might wind up just like you. That's a pretty pathetic thought....

That last part is offensive. My daughters are amazingly normal, much better than I deserve. Emily will be the captain of her volleyball team next year and the valedictorian of her class. She got my brains without all the crap.

I do not go to AA to feel comfortable. I go because I see people who have recovered from the disease. I know it's possible.
